Season Kick-Off Set for Grand Final Rematch

Mark it in your calendars — the 2026 season launches in a big way for the Stanley River Wolves, with a blockbuster Round 1 clash next Saturday 28 March.

In a fitting start to the year, the headline match will see the A-Grade reigning premiers, the Stanley River Wolves, take on last year’s runners-up, the Maroochydore Swans, in a highly anticipated grand final rematch.

After a hard-fought 2025 campaign that saw the Wolves finish on top, both sides will be eager to make an early statement. Round 1 presents the perfect stage for what promises to be a fast, physical and high-quality contest between two of the competition’s strongest teams.

The action kicks off with Reserve Grade at 4:00pm, before the main event in A-Grade at 5:30pm.

Supporters, members and the wider community are encouraged to get down to the Graveyard and be part of what is shaping as a standout opening to the season. With local pride, momentum and early ladder position on the line, this is more than just Round 1 — it is a tone-setter for the year ahead.
